Roller Coaster in the Abyss

I haven't been blogging lately. Why? I've been dealing with artist conundrum; from working with Michael Shannon to screaming in my car asking, "Why am I alive? Is there a purpose for me here and where is my life heading?
I see and hear many people wanting this acting thing and I say, "You have to be a stubborn bull inside a bullring with a matador spearing you over and over again."
You know you are a true artist if you have to wake up feeling like you can't live without it.
I feel as if my head is underwater pushed down by "the man".  I am someone that can't get enough of acting; it's addictive.
I haven't work in over 4 months and this bull is head mad.
However, hope and faith in myself and my art is the only strings I have left.  May someone notice my art! God help me. I have run out of ideas.

I'M BACK!!!!

Hi gang!  It has been a couple of years since my last post. Many things have happened since then. I will quickly bring you up to speed.
As of now, I still don't have an Theatrical Agent. Grrrr...... however things are changing.
1. I booked a guest star role on MAJOR CRIMES, possible it will recur in the future. I am part of a main story line of the show.  We will see.

October nears

October is around the corner and I have yet to book a job. This has got to be the worst year since 2007. I don't understand what happened.  Learning experience phase this year has been, to appreciate what I had and I have always been appreciative. Feeling as if I am being pushed away by the power of be.

Keep moving

I am stage managing a play titled, "Collected Stories," and I am enjoying the experience. Also, I'm getting ready to do a few scenes in acting class as well as an agent fest.  At this moment I need to focus in getting a new agent. I want to work !  Any suggestions which agents I should submit!

Went to our dearly departed Lupe Ontiveros' rosary last night.  I payed my respects to a pioneer.  Thank you Lupe for the dances and the few chats and advise you gave me. You will be miss dearly. May you be dancing with our Lord in heaven. Your star will always be bright in each of us you touched and in future generations you'll touch with your films and tv shows you left us. Thank you for the laughs, cries, legacy and inspiration. We pray for the Ontiveros Familia. Rest in Peace Reyna Lupe.

I booked a the role of RICARDO on the Showtime hit show, DEXTER. I shot yesterday and it was so great to be in front of the camera. I can't say details but I can tell you is that I'm on the season finale. Hope you watch.

Well, things are starting to move. I booked the show COMMUNITY. I went to the audition last week Wednesday Sept, 14 and read for the day laborer painter role with one Spanish line.  But I got a call yesterday and was told that the scene was deleted however,

Booked A PSA for California!!!

Well, well, well,  I booked a PSA!!!  I haven't been in front of the camera professionally since May of '10 and was it a blast to be acting again.  No wonder I like to do this, I get a huge rush and I don't want it to end.

I'm set to shoot my short, "AND THEN..." with such an artistic group of friends.  It's feels great to be working on a project once again.  I believe it takes a village of artist to create a short film and  I got amazing talented friends.  I've  being doing fantastic in acting class, my scenes have been phenomenal; I haven't had an audition for a couple of weeks, the last one was for "OFF THE MAP", which I didn't book. Next week, I'm looking forward in meeting two agents; these might be the agents I've been waiting for.

Jury Duty Over and One Audition!!!

Well after almost 3 weeks of sitting down and listening to testimony from both the Plantiff and Defendants, the trail I was in as a Juror is over and let me tell you what an experience I had.  It's a great feeling to be part of

Jury Duty

Guess what?  I got selected to Jury Duty on Tuesday morning on the 2nd day of November.  At first I didn't want to serve as a Juror but now that I'm on the 2nd day and going onto my third day I'm actually enjoying being one of the selected few who will have a major responsibility and see justice serve.

I have also published my new website and can now be accessible. It took me over 8 days to complete.  I'm still tweeking the "STUFF" page and it will be an ongoing process.

It has officially been over three weeks since my last audition.  The guy in Las Vegas lied to me and I never got my editorial printed.  I need to print them but I don't have the time right now to look for someone to help me out. I'll see if I can look for a printing shop this Saturday.

Private Screening "For Colored Girls"

Just got home from seeing the film, "For Colored Girls". What an artistic film.  It took me through an array of emotions, from laughter to shocking. I wish I could be in a film as this one.  There were a lot of great moments.  Go and watch it if you want to see something different than what Hollywood is currently putting out there.  It opens the Friday November 5th.

Another fantastic class

Wow, my classes are on fire.  Jocelyn mentioned something tonight in class and she hit another wonderful chord about this work.  "Acting is like a puzzle and it should be fun." I remember again the teaching which is always keep asking questions even up to the minute you are performing on stage.

Also, it is important to have an event and an underline event for every scene.  The underline event is what is between the lines; what the character wants, and what is going on in the scene.  It has to hit you

Class

Monday night and I just came home from acting class at Jocelyn Jones Acting Studio.  What an amazing teacher I have.  I remembered what Milton talked about acting while sitting in class tonight.  Jocelyn said that what is superior in acting above acting is "being in the moment" or "natural".  Another words be present in your own skin and observe what is happening within you and around you; this makes you alive and honest in the work.  Thank you Jocelyn.
